Had my operation last Wednesday, it went well and din't take very long. No hernia found but they did remove a lump which should be nothing to worry about but the consultant has sent it off for a biopsy just in case. I've been stapled up and will hopefully be on the mend soon.
I can't wait to get back to the running. On my last run which was on last Monday I managed a whole 20 minutes and ran for 1.39 miles approx. It was a really good run and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Had to walk back the way I came though as I seem incapable of turning around on the spot! Something that I really need to change.
Have lots of plans and aspiration for the running in the future, just need to get back to the running and I'll keep you updated.

Today I took the scenic route to the shop, 2.48 miles which took about 40 minutes we walked across the field through the woods to the church. Descended down to the New River at Amwell Pool and then diverted towards Amwell Nature Reserve. We then followed the River Lee back into Stanstead Abbotts. We got a really good look at the Konik Ponies today as they were closer to the path than usual.
This afternoon I needed the cash machine so decided to do Week 2 Run 1 of the C25K programme following the same route as this morning. It felt really good to be running again and I definitely chose the right week to restart on as I don't think Week 1 would have pushed me enough but Week 3 would have been a shock! Calfs were tightening in protest but not too badly.
Exercise bike tomorrow.
Did some research into my required calories today and came up with the following results:
My TDEE is 2242, number of calories I burn in an average day at my current weight.
LBM: Am carrying 27.19% body fat which is equivalent to 52 pounds of body fat!
BMR is 1631. Calories I burn in an idle state.
RMR is 1614. Calories required to maintain myself at rest.
BMI is 32 so just classed as obese.

On the 15th of April I was 201 pounds, the heaviest I have been for a while. I put on a few pounds after being told that I had a hernia so therefore had to quit running and walking to far. So the C25K had to go and had to cut down on the geocaching. I became rather miserable about the weight loss and tucked into a few extra calories to cheer myself up as you do!
Having seen the consultant and discovered that there's no hernia only a small abdominal tear of 1.2 cm I can resume normal activities but will need exploratory surgery in the near future. I am now dieting again and am currently fluctuacting between 188 and 190 pounds. I'm using the myfitnesspal website to record my calories and exercising more.
My dream is to do the Beachy Head Marathon next year in 2014 so this blog is record of my attempt to fulfill that dream.
Yesterday my husband and I went for a walk to replace a geocache which was 2.48 miles long with some ascent. I also popped down the shop (another 1 mile walk) and used the exercise bike while watching Eastenders, 31 minutes and 6.3 miles later.
